the choice in materialality - brick tiles/ glazed brick and ceramic tiles
using a scored piece of grey board as a guide for the tiles, I used a composition of different coloured acrylics to create the facade
adding 3mm mdf "brick tile" to create a tactile facade
positioning the columns for the bridge to structure to be placed on
Exploring the materiality of my building through model making - thinking about colours and composition of the tiles the model allowed me to visulise the building with greater clarity. As well as materiaility the building explores thereshold between the entrance of the building and the bridge that connects the anarchist Free School with the Adult Learning Centre.
Moving forward with my model I want to finish off the strctural frame, showing how the frame structure supports the buildings loads, addtionally adding the steel columns to the bridge and railings. Investigating the experiential qualities of the interior I plan to hang lights from the eye beams as well as charging/plugging. Cork floor to reflect timber flooring and showing the materiality of the construction materials.
