CONTEXT STRATEGY

An extensive look into how the building proposal (ANARCHIST FREE SCHOOL) contributes to Hulme as a co-locality. The initial aim was to design a school that provided an accessible education for all. Targeting children coming out of primary school (secondary school students). To develop the learning styles and passions from a young age with the inevitability of continuing the education afterwards (life long process). Bringing in teachers from the rest of the co-locality and public will contribute to community cohesion, an understanding and passing of knowledge between generations. Fostering a stronger cultural identity for Hulme.

1. Highlights the growing interest and influence of Hulme residents on the local area - the growing interest to strengthen hulmes cultural identity through the exchange of knowledge and ideas.

2. Residents of Hulme deposting experiences, memories knowledge of different forms into the building archive.

3. Responding to the bus routes - bus stops allow the building to maintain its accesibilty to those that have to travel.

4. Orange line indicates connection with the surrounding co-localities which provide teachers for the school. An example, those from Hulme community garden centre will teach agriculture

5. Encouraging bicycling as a method for travelling around Hulme. Giving students opportunity to explore other micro co-localities

6. Blue indicates the growing influence of the school in Hulme - a growing ideology of these anarchist values slowly intergrate themselves within the society.
