MEMORY CHAMBERS
With current trends and the greater reliance people have on technology, digitisation is happening a lot more often. Today young or old, most people have some sort of digital file in addition to Library’s initiating digitalisation of their audio, video, photos. Digital files however are dependent on the software to make them work, so if the hard ware is not updated every 2-5 years the data will become obsolete. In addition storage devices would have to be kept and stable moderate temperatures.

In relation to my project I began thinking about digital archives as opposed to one that relies more on physial objects. Through research into the community I believe creating a digital archive that holds specifically, information about Hulme, a collection of residents past and presents knowledge. This allows for an accurate archive of information that can be exchanged and added to over generations. As well as including the information taught in the free school by volunteers of the Hulme co-locality. The fact the archive is digital means that there is know limit to the amount of information that could be added.
Oxford English Dictionary describes digitisation as “the action or process of digitising; the conversion of analogue data (esp. in later use images, video, and text) into digital form.”
archive of information
So beginning to think about how information could possibly be archived and added to the collection...How could the information be recorded? With links to the Free School electronic wipe boards that remember what has been written which is then collated into a pool of information to be organised? Or equally added to your personal "memory chamber" for you and other people to access in the future. In addtion, developing on this idea of an exchange of information/idea over a coffee, could it be that the coffee allows you to record you personal conversations, which is then added the archive of information.
