DEATH AND LIFE OF AMSTERDAM

pavement occupations

During our study trip to the Netherlands we were encouraged to observe moments and exchanges that explore the issue of learning and play in the city. Through our conscious observation of these exchanges, we became associated with the flâneur; an urban explorer, the people watcher and street connoisseur. We found ourselves hunched over in a cafés, pencils sprawled across the café table watching the city’s people pass by - we observed its capacity to transform the urban environment. This education examines the occupations of pavement uses and moments of exchange and asks how this may contribute to the death and life of Amsterdam.
