FREE COFFEE AND CONVERSTAION
During our trip to the Netherlands, we came across a coffee stand outside Rotterdam Market Halll. A sign written above saying "free coffee and conversation".I headed over for converstaion, and discovered that this was a 2nd year product design project by Erica, who studied at the near by art school. The purpose of the scheme was to connect Syrain Reffugees with the people of Rotterdam. The simple idea of exchange made an interaction between the Dutch and Syrians, this created a report and acted as a catylst for converstion.
Through a dialouge that emerged from this coffee stand, the Syrains where then enabled to create a moment of exchange between themeselves and the dutch. The coffee stand created this opportunity for poeple to discuss ideas, thoughts and memories. In relation to my project this idea of exchange faciltated through cup of coffee as way of exchanging knowledge between the co-localities of Hulme could a create a wealth of information that could be added to the archive of information already collected by the members of Humle.
